The original is a classic, this is a bit like remaking The Exorcist.

I like the original Damien. The new Damien looks too evil. I suppose one of the best things about the original was that that Damien looked cute and innocent, but this time it looks too obvious. I am not going to completely bash this film (I never bash movies), in fact I have faith in the director John Moore (he made Behind Enemy Lines, which I liked).

I like Liev Schreiber and surprised to see Mia Farrows is in the cast. I'll see it eventually.

I saw a new trailer today before Scary Movie 4 that looked pretty good. That really is an evil looking little kid. I haven't been able to find the trailer I saw today, but the movie site has another good trailer to watch. http://www.theomenmovie.com/

The original is still disturbing when watching it now. The original Damien actually is a bit evil looking. That innocence is quickly tainted, haha. I don't know, I hope its a decent remake.

The cast is impressive, with Julia Stiles, Pete Postlewaite, and Liev Schreiber. I love that it's being released on June 6, 2006 or 6-6-6.

0/10 RIP OFF ALERT This movie is 99% the same as the original Omen. I mean I knew what would happen in all but two scenes in the entire movie since I have seen the original. Not only were the scenes the same as in the original, but they were in the same order! Even the dialogue was word for word in many scenes. Just incredible that the writers and director didn't vary more than two scenes. If you have seen the original Omen, don't waste your money since you already know EXACTLY what will happen, if you haven't seen the original, rent it, it's much better than this piece of crap.

Yeah, really. I wish someone would pay me to copy down most of some old movies word for word too! Oh, to be accurate, there were two minor differences between the original and this abomination. Even satan will be pissed about this movie, I predict an afterlife filled with pain and fire for all concerned.

i have to agreewith brian, being a long time horror movie fan, this version of omen is really lame rip off because it required minimal new script writing, because the plot, even the lines from characters, is so similarly to the original. if you go to a video rental place in your neighborhood, you will find a copy of the original omen, mostly like in vhs tape. watch that and then watch this 2006 version, then you'll know. except in this version, we see one new bloody death scene that is the head of the journalist was knocked out from his body by a swinging metal gate. regardless this doesn't help to save this movie. hope they wouldn't make a sequel or trilogy out of omen again. (they did make a omen trilogy back then, which was a real let down. the first one was the best, the second one wasn't even close, the third one was ridiculous.) this remake surely have put a dagger to that evil child's heart: no sequel/trilogy for sure.

I've never seen the original. I thought this version was awesome. I went and saw it on opening day (6-6-06) There was this girl in front of me who can't jumping and screaming on certian scenes. Then towards the end, the half of the theatre screamed at the same time. I enjoyed the film so did my mom and sister. I got in for free with a free movie pass. :D

The movie had its moments, but I wouldn't call it a classic... I thought it would be scarier. I found Julia Stiles' performance weak and I was always hoping that something would FINALLY happen and it just never did.
