Whiteout Reviews

Postby doggy57 » Thu Sep 10, 2009 8:17 am

I hate to say this but all the 8 reviews till now are bad about it. Apparently it's boring. So, no awards I guess. We can still hope for a good box office show because hope springs eternal in the human breast.

I have not seen the movie, and it’s a little upsetting to see thought comments, but I am still going to see the movie for Kate, and then I will judge what I think of it. I do not let what critics say effect me seeing a movie.

I know but you know the signs are not good. We will all see it because of Kate. But 11 bad reviews out of 11 is not a good sign.

Well I never let reviews determine what I watch but, unfortunately, I think the reviews are probably pretty accurate about this. If you watch the clips from Conan, and Ellen, Whiteout looks stupid.

I think some of the reviews are probably more accurate than others especially the ones that focus on the multitude of screen writers--which has always worried me about this movie -- and Sena's direction. How does this guy keep getting hired as a director? I hope it at least does decent BO. Honestly, though, I wish Kate would get away from this crap! I know she has to pay her mortgage and send her kid to private school, but damn. Her talent is so wasted!

If WHITEOUT is as bad as the critics are saying then it's a crying shame that such crap is released yet NBTT goes straight to dvd. There's no justice!

It's a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, with 17 reviews, 4 of which are from top critics. I'm hoping that the percentage will creep up over the weekend.

Well, after 27 reviews, at least 1 is positive. So, at least it's not 0% now. :)

It's really unfortunate that 'Snow Angels', 'NBTT' and 'Fragments' didn't get her the recognition she deserved. :(

Well, I don't think you could have expected a Dominic Sena film to get good reviews. If you want better reviews for a Kate film, you're going to have to wait for Everybody's Fine.

I'm hoping for a big opening weekend. I've noticed that poorly reviewed action/thriller movies can have a good first weekend, but they drop off pretty quickly after that.

I agree Brian. I just hope the film is financially successful.

But from now on Kate needs to stay away from directors like Dominic Sena, Paul W.S. Anderson, Jan DeBont. Joel Schumacher, Renny Harlin, Brett Ratner, and Stephen Sommers. If she does decide to do a film with one of those directors, then she needs to make sure it has a known cast instead of a completely unknown cast, like Van Helsing. Not a good movie, but had Hugh Jackman, David Wenham, and Richard Roxborough.

Let's hope her new agents work better for her. I feel for her. She just hasn't had much luck with her films lately. Even her great performances go unnoticed because of bankrupt releasing companies and indie films not getting released.

Dominic Sena didn't even attend the premiere for Christ's sake.

Wow, it's at 02% on RT. 51 out of 52 reviews are negative. If that holds Whiteout will be the worst reviewed movie of the year.

All the reviews are more or less voicing concerns such as it drags and is boring and is not believable which is similar to the review which surface probably more than a year ago supposedly by someone who had seen it.

If nobody is liking a thriller, then I guess it must be really bad. :( Why does Kate get involved in such movies, I don't know.

Well, to be honest, there aren't very many great roles for women in Hollywood, and everyone is competing for those roles. But Kate needs to make better choices and she needs a better agent.

I really feel for her. She probably thinks she's snake bit.

Obviously you are a Kate fan. But how objective or subjective were you when you say that? Try to give me as unbiased an opinion as possible. ;)
